The Holidays in Harrison

In my post from earlier this week, you know that our family got the opportunity for a staycation out in the Harrison area.

While staying at Rowena's and the Sandpiper Resort, we decided to venture into Harrison Hot Springs for the day, seeing as it's just 15 minutes up the road!

We started our time in Harrison Hot Springs with lunch at one of our favourite places there - Muddy Waters Cafe!

Muddy Waters Cafe is a family run, farm to table restaurant on the main drag in Harrison Hot Springs. They feature breakfast and lunch, as well as a full cafe of pastries and coffees. You MUST try their salad with house made dressing - it is incredible!

After lunch, the kids stopped by the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for some afternoon treats.

We spent the afternoon walking along the lake and we even took a dip in the hot springs pool - which was a much needed time of relaxation.

Later that evening, we came back to Harrison Hot Springs for Lights By the Lake.

This is a free event that display lights up the 1 km waterfront of Harrison Hot Springs along the promenade. There is also free skating on the outdoor synthetic ice rink if you bring your own skates (or you can rent them for a small charge).

It runs daily from dusk to 11PM until January 12th - so you've got lots of time to go and check it out!

There are a ton of other things to do in Harrison Hot Springs during the holiday season.

You can:

  • Locate all the Christmas Trees through Harrison Hot Springs
  • Walk the Sasquatch Trail through the village
  • Sip a peppermint mocha or coffee in one of the local cafes
  • Hike or snowshoe a local trail

Also, if you haven't finished your Christmas shopping yet, there are a number of local small businesses and boutiques to help you out!

Thanks so much for having us!
